Our lab would like to acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Kalapuya people. After the treaties of 1851 and 1855, the Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to the Coast Reservation in Western Oregon. Many of the Kalapuya descendants are citizens of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. The Kalapuya, as well as many other displaced people that live within the boundaries of present day Oregon, have a vibrant community, contributing to the cultural, social, and scientific vitality of Oregon.
